LegitStyle, the stage name of Robert de la Rosa, was born on September 1st in Harlem, New York. With Dominican and American roots, LegitStyle has proudly represented the cultural duality that defines him, fusing the best of both worlds in his music and his vision as an artist.
From an early age
He showed artistic inclinations, although like many young African Americans and Latinos, his first passion was sports. He excelled in basketball and football, but destiny guided him toward another path: music.
At 14, while living in Washington Heights, he discovered his true talent when he recorded and wrote his first verse on a track produced by his older brother, Jesús de la Rosa. That moment would mark the beginning of an artistic journey that would eventually become his life’s purpose.
